THIS IS AN OLD REVIEW FROM OUR OLD BLOG, FROM 2015

HADES – MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND

Hades is the second album by the japanese shoegaze band My Dead Girlfriend. I still haven’t checked out their first album, Lxtab, yet, so I’m not that sure if they always sound like in this album.

To be honest, I really enjoyed this album, a strong AOTY contender in my opinion.

Ok so this album reminded me a LOT to MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, probably because both are j-poppy shoegazing bands. So let’s rate!

Vocals: 7,5

Instruments: 9

Lyrics: ??? I still can’t find information about the lyrics in English and I don’t speak japanese so I will just not rate the lyrics

TOTAL: 8,25

It’s a really comfy album!! It had the ability to go from dream pop to a atmospheric post-rock song. The post-rock song is my favorite, it was called “I Think About Mary Poppins” (I think hehe). The only problem i found with this album is that it became a little bit repetitive in the last songs, but overall, it’s a great record and you should give it a shot if you want someday.
